Study Group to Focus on Data Protection in the Financial Services and Insurance Industries
FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (September 5, 2007) —
The Executive Board of the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) voted unanimously to create a new 'Study Group for Security Best Practices' for the financial services and insurance industries, appointing Direct Computer Resources, Inc.'s, chief software engineer, Edward (Ed) L. Stull, as its Chairman. Mr. Stull is the chief architect of DCR's leading data privacy software solution, DataVantage Global®.
With the assistance of DCR, the Study Group's first formal meeting will be held at the Financial Services Technology Summit on September 19th in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In concert with other security-related organizations and C-level executives from finance and insurance companies, the new INCITS Study Group will address the best practices and frameworks for deployable Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) security standards, including data privacy and protection, particularly as it relates to malpractice and criminal intent.
